Pioneer are clearly keen to branch into the laptop DJ arena, and hot on the heels of their DDJ-S1 Serato Itch Controller is this, the DDJ-T1 which is aimed at Native Instruments Traktor user base. I don’t know if I would prefer this or a set of CDJ350s, but it does look promising for laptop DJs.

Pioneer have offically introduced the Pioneer DDJ-S1 controller. According to Pioneer, the DDJ-S1 has been carefully designed to deliver operability to users of Serato ITCH DJ software. The DDJ-S1 will be available from Pioneer from the beginning of April 2011. The Pioneer DDJ-S1 offers familiarity, innovation and pure controllerism to maximize performance with Serato ITCH software. But will it compete with the Native Instrument’s S4?

Those of you who know me, know I love my iPhone! Even more than that, I am known to fire up Touch DJ and spin a few tunes while out and about. Well there’s a new piece of hardware out for the iPad that looks to blow this out the water. I’m not too sure on the faux records, as I prefer a waveform to look at. Needless to say, this looks promising!

Being a laptop DJ is a bad enough stigma at times, as there’s normally nowhere to put your beloved equipment in either a booth or on a table. In fact I have been known to use an empty beer crate to get my laptop to a more practical and useful level.

After umming and erring for a while I decided that I needed a new bag to cart my laptop etc around with. Up until this point I’d been using a normal backpack with a few big chunky pockets and it’d been doing me well. I’ve got a backpack fetish and I’m not ashamed of it, so I took a gander across the internet to see what else there was about!
